Lakers resume top billing status

The inner-city battle for Los Angeles added another feisty chapter, as the Lakers battled to a 96-91 win over the Clippers to resume their top billing status.

In a duel that featured a number of technical fouls and skirmishes, Kobe Bryant scored 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter as the Lakers flexed their muscles at crunch time.

Pau Gasol added 23 points and 10 rebounds and the Lakers.
